About Jeanne
Representative Jeanne Labuda, elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2008, has lived in District 1 for over 30 years. A wife and mother, she has two daughters, both recent college graduates. Her employment background includes being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, teaching high school in South Texas, awarding benefits to seniors and disabled individuals as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration, and practicing law for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and two insurance companies.
Throughout the year, Representative Labuda holds Town Hall Meetings addressing issues of current interest. During session, she gives legislative updates at each of her meetings.

- Convinced Democratic values are best for our nation & state
- Convinced that good health care, a good education system, and support for strong families are best for our nation and state.
- Working hard to provide a good economic base for Colorado, which includes policies supporting both businesses and workers.
- Working equally hard to protect our environment, and ensure that our state’s beauty and wilderness are available for our use and the use of future generations.
My Experience:
- Chosen for Denver Planning Board by two Mayors, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, election judge, Community Advisory Board for Father Ed Judy House, President of Harvey Park Improvement Association, Girl Scout leader and Peace Corps volunteer.
What I Strive For:
- Ensuring a quality public education for all children.
- Teaching that civic responsibility begins close to home, in our neighborhoods and communities.
- Providing equal opportunity for all because this leads to a better world for all. Education is the key to creating opportunity.
- Working for full funding for Early Childhood Education, K-12, and Higher Education.
- Ensuring that every worker receives a livable wage and health care.
- Insistent that our Homeland Security will truly provide security.
- In love with great outdoors, and dedicated to protecting parks and wilderness.
