I thank the citizens of House District 1 for re-electing me!  I won with over 58% of the vote, and I am grateful for your support.

With this election, Democrats are still in power in the State House.  Our officers for the 2009 session will be:

Speaker Terrance Carroll (subject to election by the whole House)

Majority Leader Paul Weissman

Assistant Majority Leader Andy Kerr

Majority Caucus Chair Karen Middleton

Assistant Majority Caucus Chair Randy Fischer

Majority Caucus Whip Claire Levy (who is my office mate!)

Majority Assistant Caucus Whip Sal Pace.  

Rep. Kathleen Curry was named Speaker Pro Tem by the Speaker-Elect. 

I have been appointed Vice Chair of the Committee on State, Military and Veterans' Affairs.  I will also serve on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and the Legislative Legal Services Committee.

Although I work year-round as your State Representative, my official duties for the next session begin on January 7, 2009, when I'll be sworn in again.
